(Newport, KY – July 25, 2025) Brighton Center received a $20,000 Community Impact Grant from The Campbell’s Foundation. This employee-led grant program supports local organizations working on food access, healthy living, and neighborhood revitalization. Brighton Center’s Family Resource Center will use these funds to advance hunger relief efforts.
Brighton Center’s Choice Food Pantry is for families experiencing food insecurity, where they can “shop” for food and hygiene items for themselves. Resource Advocates meet with families who are accessing the food pantry and assist them on their path toward self-sufficiency by stabilizing their crisis, referring them to other critical community resources, and helping them achieve their goals. Last Fiscal Year, Brighton Center’s Family Resource Center served 2,173 families with emergency assistance services.
Brighton Center’s Club Care program supports vulnerable seniors who receive homebound meal deliveries and wraparound support. This provides healthy and nutritious food, health screenings, check-in calls to reduce social isolation, and connections to other community resources.
Brighton Center provides SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Outreach to assist individuals and families with prescreening and applications to Kentucky’s SNAP program, enabling them to purchase healthy food. Brighton Center’s outreach initiative helps connect families with the resources that they need.
“This grant from The Campbell’s Foundation will allow us to continue meaningfully partnering with the families we serve,” said Jenny Wiley, Housing and Family Well-Being Director. “Providing food and helping families navigate a crisis is the first step of their overall self-sufficiency plan. In addition to food access, we can provide a depth of service that ensures families are connected to additional programs and resources on their journey to self-sufficiency.”
The Community Impact Grants program identifies organizations best positioned to drive change, nominated by employees at each Campbell’s location. “Campbell’s is committed to making a positive impact in the communities we call home,” said Kate Barrett, President of The Campbell’s Foundation. “The Community Impact Grants program gives our employees a voice in supporting organizations that make a meaningful impact in the communities where they live and work.”
