Meet The Staff - Beth

What is your title and role? 

  • My title is Program Supervisor

Brief description of what you do and program you are in?

  • I supervise the day to day at Early Scholars Child Development Center and the food program at both Bright Days Child Development Center and Early Scholars Child Development Center.  I am also responsible for compliance for Ky. State Licensing. I create staff schedules, coach and monitor their performance, plan menus, order food and supplies, and work directly with the children and parents at both Child Development Center sites. 

What inspires you about the work that you do?

  • My inspiration is happy children in a nurturing environment and their parents becoming self-sufficient.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

  • I enjoy family time, card making, volunteer work, movies, and my church during my spare time.

What are you passionate about?

  • I am passionate about treating people with dignity and respect.

What is your personal motto? 

  • I love organization and compliance.

What is your title and role?

I am a Family Centered Coach for Stable Families

Brief description of what you do and the program you are in.

Stable Families is a program for families facing housing barriers in NKY. I work with my customers for 18 months in order to break down the immediate barriers and support them as they work toward their hopes and dreams!

What inspires you about the work that you do?

I LOVE walking alongside my families- watching them overcome the obstacles that have been placed in their way inspires me. They’re my heroes.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to make macramé, do all kinds of outdoorsy things, read and bake!

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about loving the people around me in a way that empowers them!

Meet the Staff - Amy W

What is your title and role?

My current title is Accountant.

Brief description of what you do.

I am an Accountant with Support Services. I am responsible for processing Brighton Center’s accounts, receivables as well as contract billings, monthly financials, and a of robust other duties as assigned. I process and/or review cash receipts prior to their final approval by the Accounting Manager. Additionally, I supervise the Accounts, Payable Specialist.

What inspires you about the work that you do?

I was fortunate to have worked in Direct Services prior to becoming an Accountant. In fact, my journey with Brighton Center started as a Skill Instructor at Center for Employment Training where I was promoted to Integrative Learning Supervisor, Financial Aid and Data Integration Manager, and Coordinator. I am inspired by the resiliency of our customers and co-workers. Seeing people give 110% to achieve their goals or outcomes inspires me to do all I can in the background (of Support Services) to help each of them achieve those goals and outcomes.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy listening to Broadway show tunes, watching Masterpiece Classics & Mysteries, and baking.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about lifelong learning & education, my pets, and equal rights issues (specifically LGBTIAAQ+).

Meet The Staff - Elizabeth

What is your title and role?

I am a Street Outreach Specialist within our Family Center. 

Brief description of what you do and the program you are in (2-3 sentences)?

I get to work with individuals experiencing homelessness and help remove barriers they are facing to obtaining stable housing. The goal is to cut down on homelessness in our surrounding counties.

What inspires you about the work that you do?

I am inspired by the fact that Brighton Center has helped me, all I want is to give back. Individuals that people normally turn their heads past or walk past need advocates. Being there for them inspires me.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I am a bowler! Other than that I love being with my kids, family, and friends.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about those struggling with substance use and seeking recovery. I am also passionate about those transitioning out of incarceration and back in society.

My personal motto would be; you fall, you rise, you make mistakes, you live, and you learn.
