BECOME A MENTOR
Do you have 2 hours a week to share with a child?
| What: |
Across Ages Mentoring Program pairs adults, age 55 and older, with 6th and
7th grade students who need positive role models in their lives. These young
people may be at risk for drug and/or alcohol abuse or may be performing poorly
in school. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity each week to talk with
your student, go places, have fun, or work on community projects together. Your
student will develop a positive relationship with an adult, build confidence and
self-esteem, and have a chance to learn the life skills he/she needs to be
successful. Both you and your student will be provided with initial and ongoing
training and you will be updated on the many activities in the area that you can
enjoy together including free tickets to events.
