Matching Gifts

If your company has a matching gift program, you may double or possibly triple your gift to Brighton Center. Designating a matching gift to benefit is a great way to expand the impact of your gift.

Information on whether or not your company matches charitable donations is usually available through your personnel, benefits, or community relations department. Your matching gift coordinator can provide you with the necessary paperwork.

Thank you for increasing your gift to Brighton Center through your company's matching gift program. We know that it takes extra effort on your part to help coordinate a matching gift. We want you to know we appreciate your support, and that the matching gift helps us make an even bigger difference in our community.

Gifts of Stock

You may choose to make an annual gift of stock. A gift of appreciated securities can offer significant tax advantages. Transferring stock is simple, but during the busy days of December, please allow us up to a week to process your gift. You should always consult your Financial Advisor before making gifts of stock. For additional information please contact Bear Clifton at 859.491.8303, ext. 2410 or bclifton@brightoncenter.com.

Planned Gifts

There are a number of ways to leave a legacy to Brighton Center, including Giving through Your Will, Giving through Life Insurance, and Giving through Charitable Trusts.

Giving through your Will
Having provided for your loved ones, you may name Brighton Center as a beneficiary in your will. You may choose a Specific Bequest (you designate a specific dollar amount, specific percentage, or specific property); Residual Bequest (after all debts, taxes, and specific bequests the remaining amount will be transferred to Brighton Center); or Contingent Bequest (you can ask that Brighton Center receive all or a portion of your estate under certain circumstances).

To make a bequest to Brighton Center, the following language will be helpful to your attorney:
"I give, devise, and bequeath to Brighton Center located at 741 Central Ave., Newport, KY 41071, the sum of _____(or otherwise describe the gift of property or some other tangible asset)."

If you have already included Brighton Center in your will or estate plan, please contact us. We realize that by making this special gift, you consider Brighton Center to be part of your family, and we want to keep you informed as to how your gift will be used and provide the opportunity for you to express your wishes.

Giving through Life Insurance
One of the simplest ways to make a significant contribution to Brighton Center is to give a life insurance policy. You may give an existing policy that you no longer need, take out a new policy, or name Brighton Center as a beneficiary. This gift may provide valuable income and estate tax savings.

Giving through Charitable Trusts
A Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) allows you to establish a trust for the ultimate benefit of Brighton Center, while retaining the income generated by the assets. A CRT may help you eliminate capital gains taxes, reduce or eliminate estate taxes, improve lifetime cash flow, and provide for your heirs.

These are important decisions that require careful consideration. Please contact your attorney or Financial Adviser.

In-Kind Gifts

You can help Brighton Center by donating in-kind goods or services. Items donated may be used directly by the Center's programs, for special events, or in the Clothing Closet. Free pick–up service is available for many of these donations! To make an in-kind donation, contact Beth Hodge at 859.491.8303, ext. 2331 or bhodge@brightoncenter.com.
