CET offers a full-time medical assisting course that meets daily and
provides a simulated work environment in which trainees can complete their
clinical and administrative skills. Classes meet year-round from 8:30 -
4:00, enabling individuals to complete the curriculum in as little as six
to eight months.
The medical assisting curriculum at CET allows for
mastery of skills through a combination of book work, written tests,
lectures, clinical demonstrations, and hands-on assessment. Instruction is
highly individualized and small class size allows for personal attention
from CET staff.
CET medical assisting students receive comprehensive training in:
Phlebotomy/Venipuncture
Anatomy and Physiology
Medical Terminology
Pharmacology
Clerical Procedures
Vital Signs
EKG, urinalysis, & many more clinical skills
Courses in refresher math and English, human development, and job
preparation are also taken as part of the curriculum. When classroom
training is completed, the student will participate in 160 hour externship
at a local doctor's office, hospital, or clinic.
To be considered a graduate of the medical assisting program at CET,
competency and attendance requirements must be met and the student must
become employed in the healthcare field. Comprehensive job placement
services are provided.
